Live Nation, Azoff-Aligned Lobby Throws Weight Behind Unfinished California Price Cap Legislation

Every time I read about live nation lately I’m already mad. This is such an infuriating situation to already be advertised as something “for the consumer,” when anyone with eyes can see the monopoly urging. While yes, resellers are annoying, sure, this new hugely undefined legislation doesn’t imply that prices will ever be cheaper- just that they need to be bought directly from the source. Directly from the single company running all of this currently. My guess, this gets passed and ticket prices for events, or fees, something stupid, everything rises anyways. Once there’s no resellers in the way, ticketmaster prices can go crazy and it’s justified by how much worse it would be if there were scalpers in the way. What I want more than anything, is to buy tickets directly from the source. More artists selling their own tickets without a middle man, that would actually make me happy.
