ISE 2026 - Day 2
LightSoundJournal.com: If the first day of ISE 2026 served to take stock of an increasingly vast and cross-cutting trade fair, the second day definitely gets down to business. This is where design choices, product philosophies and, above all, solutions designed to simplify the lives of designers, technicians, and system integrators emerge.

It has been interesting to hear reporting on ISE, both from articles like this, and on social media as various manufacturers reveal large numbers of products in time for the show. I am still trying to understand exactly what ISE is, because it definitely doesn’t have the same feel as USITT or LDI that I know a lot more about, but it seems like a mix of those and INFOCOM for the european market.
I am curious about the politics and sponsorships related to articles like this. My understanding is that in journals like this, it is typical for companies to compensate the journals for their products being featured, but am not 100% sure. I do think it is interesting which particular companies were highlighted in this article, because it was only a tiny cross-section of the industry. There are so many companies at ISE that I don’t know how a publisher is supposed to decide what the most interesting developments are. I do also wonder how many people actually read these journals, and how important it is for the companies to be featured in them.
