Here's where you can see 'Rogers: The Musical' after it closed

www.themeparkinsider.com: When Disneyland announced that it would stage a real-life version of "Rogers: The Musical" at Disney California Adventure's Hyperion Theater, it said that the show would close August 31.

It’s almost a little embarrassing to say, but I was a huge fan of Captain America throughout middle school and high school. I love the character, and I definitely enjoyed rewatching the Marvel movies over and over again. I visited Disney California Adventure Land in early May, and I remember walking past the theatre where the show was staged. Unfortunately, it was closed so I didn’t get to see it. Though the exterior is well-decorated and many people were talking photos there. While it was unfortunate that I didn’t see the performance, I still enjoyed my trip. But I do wonder what the reason was behind the closing, especially if it received positive reviews. I wonder if it was because the production cost was too high that it was hard to break even? Though I personally don’t think the likelihood is high for this one because Disney parks all around the world have several performances in their parks all the time.

Disneyland is a place, of course, if you can afford it, for everyone. It is somewhere that is universally loved and accessible. A popular production at the park has always been the stage acts- Frozen and Aladdin were huge hits. Unfortunately, as always money is the underlying factor as to why things close. It is hard for me to believe though that Disneyland is struggling. I believe they always want bigger profits and if they can't get them they simply close and blame it on the pandemic. Live theater- albeit incredibly commercial- was an experience with real people interacting with an audience. That is rare and Disneyland seemed to be a place that supports this. Unfortunately, once again money and corporate greed hit the arts.
