Netflix ‘Squid Game’ Reality TV Show Contestants Shocked That ‘Squid Game’ Isn’t Actually Fun

www.forbes.com: New reports are emerging from the sets of Netflix’s reality TV Squid Game show that paint a dire picture. Contestants report that the filming conditions for the show, based on the hit Korean Netflix drama, are often harsh and cold.

I agree with the writer of the article because I think if you complain about the conditions of a game show based on squid games then maybe you should’ve reevaluated what you thought you’d go into. I think a game show based on squid games for 4.56 million dollars should be a challenge physically and mentally. I’d only sympathize with the contestants if there was no contract warning of health hazards posed by certain challenges and some sort of signed waiver acknowledging the risks like they have on game shows like Survivor. The game Squid Show is based on people who die often in horrific ways in a contest for survival game show style, so a game based on that show I think should pose some pretty epic stunts, conditions, and challenges and should only be signed up for by more dare devil-ish types of people.

This is rather unfortunate to read about but I’m not sure what was expected based on the title of the article and show… I feel like anything related to Squid Game is probably not the best idea to be a participant in. I had no idea that a reality show version would even exist – or how it is at all possible based on the show. The prize fund is unlike any other, but this is a yikes situation in general. I am confused about the mixed reports from contestants and Netflix, but again I am not surprised. I do wish that the safety aspects had been handled in a way that made these rumors easy to debunk, as there seem to be multiple reports and multiple outlets reporting on this topic. It is just not a good look for them. I’ll be curious to see what the reviews of this show are once it airs.

This is an interesting article, for sure. On one hand, you might be thinking, what did they expect? But on the other hand? It seems like a lot of these problems don't actually have to do with the nature of Squid Game. Of course, things like races being fixed is a cruelty probably caused by a higher power, and I think that holding a pose for half an hour is just part of the game - they got what they bargained for - but I wonder if the cold weather, which seems like the worst part through all of this, was just a terrible oversight. Obviously, no member of the production team wants their participants "convulsing on the floor" (at least I hope so). But I never saw Squid Game, so for all I know this is just a hyper realistic re-creation. I'm interested to see what the outcome of this show is.
