Bill Irwin Doesn't Find Much Meaning in Beckett's Endgame, But He Gets It
Playbill: The first page of Samuel Beckett’s Endgame is a lengthy stage direction for the character Clov. He is described as having a stiff, staggering walk. Among other tasks, he must carry a ladder between two high windows, then ascend it to look out.
