LightSoundJournal.com: Spectacular staging and ecological action can go hand in hand. This is the signal that Prolight + Sound 2022 is sending out with the premiere of the Green Event Day – at the same time, setting impulses for the innovative strength and the sense of responsibility in the industry on the way to more sustainable event operations.

The sheer amount of energy that theatre and events consume in general is absolutely astounding to me. The emphasis on finding a more green path is certainly a commendable goal. Prolight + Sound 2022 is organising the premiere of the Green Event Day, along with the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC) and supported by the Association of Media and Event Technology (VPLT). There are big players involved in these efforts, potentially alluding to the possibility of greater change. This event, hosted on April 27 2022, will offer lectures, panels and best-practice presentations on the careful use of natural resources. Representatives from companies from the entertainment technology industry, venues, tourism boards, communication and event agencies, will all be present and participating in the event. The debut of such an event sets good precedent moving forward and a growing emphasis on sustainability, a good direction to be going in.
