I’m so glad I came across this article because it reminded me of 5-6 years ago when I would find out the next season for my local theater. There was so much excitement when a brochure would arrive with all of the shows laid out for the next year. My dad and I would go through all of them and see which ones we knew of so we could look up the rest. Luckily, student discounts made seeing theater so much more affordable and accessible because going to see these large touring shows was how I primarily learned about famous classic shows and new innovative shows. I’m so thankful for the ability to see them because they shaped my opinions on what type of theatre I’m interested in creating and introduced me to so many stories that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I will definitely be going to see as many as I can, considering the time and money of a college student of course.
