Event Genius continues Iberian expansion with exclusive partnerships for Sónar Lisboa, Neopop, Cruïlla and Florida 135
Event Industry News: Having recently been acquired by Festicket, the world’s biggest platform for discovering and booking festival experiences, to create a unified industry-leading ticketing and event technology platform, Event Genius has quickly established a renewed focus in the Iberian market, signing a handful of exclusive, multi-year deals with some of the region’s leading events.

I really appreciate the sentiment of a streamlined platform that manages a multitude of musical festivals. It is simple, it is convenient. However, at some point this simply becomes a monopoly. As a person who enjoys music festivals and finds ticketing to be one of the most frustrating aspects of attendance, I think this sounds great. However, I truly can not wrap my head around how a company like Front Gate (manages Lollapalooza, among others) handles multiple events of such a grand scale. The company from the article, Event Genius, seems like they have their work cut out from them. Obviously they are good at it if they are able to expand at such a rate, but they certainly have their work cut out for them. Despite the idea of having to balance all that goes into ticketing a large festival, I think it would be highly enjoyable. I often forget to consider things like that when thinking off jobs that relate to things we are learning in class.
