CadQuery Comes Of Age

Hackaday: For those that haven’t seen it before, CadQuery is a python library that allows you to create 3D models, and export them as STL as well as STEP, so making models for your KiCAD project is an option too. Unlike OpenSCAD, however, CadQuery is much more design–intent focussed.

Recently, I have decided I want to use the tools and education I received from the school of drama to pursue a career in themed entertainment design. I have been reaching out to various people already in this industry and discussing with them the different positions I could pursue. On top of this, I have been searching for specific tools and training I should get that would assist me in this career path. A big thing I have been told is the drafting and rendering software I should learn. So, as of right now, I am committed to learning a collection of various CAD and rendering software over this summer. Any software I see I check out, as it might be useful in the future. I will check out CadQuery! While it is not on my list of current software to learn, as technology is always evolving, it might become something I will need in the future. Even just being aware of its existence is important.
