With the return of music festivals comes the return of the acoustical challenges they have always faced. Life is Beautiful in particular has to deal with controlling low end so that they don’t irritate local residents and get shut down, while also providing an amazing and authentic acoustical experience for the festival goers. Thus, the use of system modeling software in order to understand how the sound is traveling based on the weather conditions was critical. Honestly, that is one hell of a sentence to write. Meyer Sound has mapping software that can show where sound will travel based on the temperamental atmospheric conditions of the venue. How cool is that? The production team was able to use multiple types of subs to control the directionality and flow of the low-end to make sure it didn’t leave the venue while also creating an amazing show for amazing performers like Megan Thee Stallion. All around amazing work from the sound team, and I cannot wait for more awesomely designed festivals like this!
