VMD and that sort of video integration in theatre has never been my favorite thing to see onstage. Often times I feel as though it either distracts from the main story or is just tacked on at the end to look interesting. Now reading about this, I feel completely different. Just scanning through the article and seeing those incredible pictures is really eye opening. Specifically the picture involving the astronauts during a performance blew my mind a bit. I think it is a great example of many different departments within theatre working together in harmony. The VMD is stunning but it would be take it or leave it if it wasn’t for the hyper realistic and beautifully constructed set and costumes. They all work together to improve the show, to bring the audience in to the world of the story, which is what we are supposed to do in a perfect world.
