Aurora Theatre opens Lawrenceville Arts Center with public tours this weekend
ARTS ATL: After much anticipation, the curtain rises this week on the $35 million, 59,500-square-foot Lawrenceville Arts Center, as it hosts grand opening tours Friday through Sunday.
Completing a city block for the arts in downtown Lawrenceville, the complex is the product of a remarkable partnership between Aurora Theatre and the City of Lawrenceville — one that, over many years, has played a significant role in revitalizing the Gwinnett County seat’s central business district.

This article is so full of hope and excitement for the future. The people in the Aurora Theatre seem to really care about their community and outreach and making the theatre a place of true community within the town. In fact, I am rather impressed with how well funded they seem to be, as if the community and city came together and decided that they really value theatre and art. I also think that it is an incredible idea to host tours of the whole theater. What a genius way to get more people interested in technical theatre work. I can not tell you how many times I have had to stumble through an explanation of what I do as a career so this is a marvelous way of explaining it to the public and allowing them to see the technology behind the magic that they see on the stage.
