Robe for the 2021 VMAs

LightSoundJournal.com: The 2021 MTV VMAs (Video Music Awards) was back in-person, in style and with a live audience at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City … and making it extra special this year the event celebrated its 40th … so the pressure was on for lighting designer Tom Sutherland of DX7 Design to smash it in terms of visual flair for the occasion.

I think a portion of this paragraph really blew me away:
“The creative team saw them onstage only for their single 90-minute rehearsal slot … before having to imagine a different masterpiece presentation for each that blew everyone away!”
Just the speed at which some of these artist have to work in incredible. I cannot imagine the amount of pressure that are on these artist teams during the production of these shows. I think that all the ROBE advertisements around the article (and the article being about the ROBE fixtures used in the show) are funny. I think the more impressive thing is the whole rig and the production as a whole but still, the ROBE fixtures were a nice addition to the rig itself. I would love to see the plots and technical drawings for this show! Why can’t we do that in class? Look at cool drawings of things that are happening in the industry?
