This is another aspect of theatre that is affected by social distancing that I just never considered! And, as theatre usually does, the way in which audio functions at the Tony's has evolved. What is most intriguing to me about Theatre is the art form's constant state of growing and adaption. The industry is constantly shifting, and requiring new standards, and theatre artists are able to accommodate that rapid change. Another thing this article has pointed out to me, and if something I have been thinking about a lot, is the vast scope of how many elements actually make of theatre. There are so many individual elements that make up the craft, that each require immense and personal attention to detail. I would have never considered how wired microphones would clash with the new covid safety protocols at the Tonys. However, someone did! It makes me incredibly excited to continue learning about theatre, and hopefully reach this level of awareness for a show.
