Review Roundup: DANA H. Opens on Broadway

www.broadwayworld.com: Dana H. tells the harrowing true story of a woman held captive in a series of Florida motels for five months. Told in Dana's own words and reconstructed for the stage by her son, playwright Lucas Hnath, this groundbreaking work shatters the boundaries of the art form and challenges our understanding of good and evil.

I am fascinated by this project and I want to see some sort of photos or videos to just get a grip on how exactly it is being presented as it isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before. I want to know what kind of set it has, as it does rotate with another show, what kind of costumes it has as it was compared to a podcast. How much visual storytelling occurs? I’ve been thinking a lot about the medium of true crim podcasts ever since the Gabby Petito case when podcasters were treating her ongoing case as a fun little mission. THis is obviously different as it comes from the source, but how is the material handled. Is it all portrayed graphically on stage or not at all. All this I wonder and more. I would also like to know whether or not the lead actress even wears a mic, to pick up her breath or any non-word sounds.
