Las Vegas Review-Journal: Tents come and go in Las Vegas. But occasionally they don’t leave and serve as harbingers of long-running Strip productions.
“Absinthe” opened in a tent for what was expected to be a six-month run. That was nearly eight years ago. Cirque du Soleil’s “Novelle Experience” played a limited, tented engagement outside the Mirage in November 1993. That show helped ignite the series of Cirque shows that continue to be staged on the Strip.

Fuerza Bruta is a really interesting show. I had the opportunity to see it before the show closed in New York CIty and I wish I had the chance to go again. It’s truly an experience and one you have the ability to confront from many angles. I think it’s a great introduction to more experimental or conceptual entertainment as it allows people to have the degree of immersivity they are more comfortable with. I think it’ll do very well in Las Vegas. Being similar, yet different enough than Cirque Du Soleil, Fuerza Bruta should be able to capture the same crowds. Hopefully the ability to attract people who wanted to see Cirque with its acrobatic nature and presenting them with a unique and new experience will be enough to garner them a lasting following on the Strip. The ten years of a successful past and established name also does not hurt.
