First Impression: Sennheiser XSW-D Digital Wireless Microphone System
Church Production Magazine: With a battery-powered transmitter and receiver, this new system opens up new possibilities. Both modules can operate up to five hours on a single charge and you can switch between multiple transmitters with one receiver. It’s all about traveling light, plugging in anywhere, and making sounds fast.

I am not someone who ever claims to be an avid sound engineer or designer, but I do admit that the sound industry is definitely one that interests me. This Sennheiser review seems to hold some weight despite my weariness at the beginning of the article. At first I did not know what to expect seeing that the article was reviewed by a church based organization and did not know what kind of testing they would really put this mic through. Despite that, this microphone seems to be an interesting technology that could lead to bigger things in the sound industry. The wireless receiver and transmitter could save a lot of wiring time and as the technology gets more stable, it could eliminate it all together. I do understand the downside to this microphone as it states in the article, it seems like the issues are very personal to the one institution that tested the mic and now an issue to the microphone itself.
