All of the articles that I have read about the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre have really grabbed my attention because they seem to be a company that is always focused on the horizon. They are finding ways to be even more of a family that lifts the Pittsburgh arts community, and that is a goal that I know can be very challenging because it requires the constant willingness to try something new and a bit unpredictable, but it can reap endless rewards. They seem like a group that is so focused on enrichment, and I think that is really important because it takes something that is put on a pedestal of perfection, ballet, and it brings it to a level on which anyone can be a part of it, and that creates a lot of incredible role models for a community to look towards. I think it is really exciting that they are introducing the students to works of all kinds from classical to contemporary ballet, which is a testament to how committed they are to broadening horizons for themselves and their community.
