Making Dreams Into Reality at Chicago Scenic Studios

irishamericannews.com: The evolution of Chicago Scenic Studios over the last 40 years finds them in another new home. Serving the creative needs of our city, our country and even our world, this cutting edge design solutions and fabrication company has moved from it’s previous location at Goose Island to a sprawling 165,000 square foot warehouse on Cermak and Halsted.

Not only do I love the article I love the newspaper it was printed in. The Irish American Paper is something my family regularly reads so I do not know how I missed this article. I have lived in the suburbs my whole life and my dad has worked in the loop his entire career and I think I know the city well but I am beginning to realize I know very little about the arts culture in the city. Though I suppose I would never have known about the Scenic Studio because it is contained in a warehouse, like all the most magical places is completely unassuming on the outside. However, I do feel sad that in the article it says they do not do as much theatre as they did before which is unfortunate but the instillations they do, like the decorations on the Lions outside the Art Institute, are just as awesome and wonderful pieces of art. I hope I actually get a chance to work with them at some point eventually because they seem to do great work, though I feel Kevin would have to corroborate that point of view, but I hope so because I like to support Chicago businesses.
