Las Vegas Review-Journal: We’re about to see just how many gentlemen — and women — prefer blondes.
“Marilyn! The New Musical,” an original production about the life of Marilyn Monroe and her younger life as Norma Jean Baker, opens for previews May 23 at Paris Theater at Paris Las Vegas.
The show’s grand opening is June 1, which would have been Monroe’s 92nd birthday.

Oh, Marilyn Monroe. Such an icon. Such a mistake to ever look up to her, or have her be your role model. Ok, I can understand the pull; she was glamorous and beautiful and was and still is an icon. But, she wasn't really that good of a performer. Her best pieces was "The Seven Year Itch" which is more appreciated for it's film historical value than for the quality of the performances. Monroe helped to change America's view on sexuality in films as well as in the public eye. I guess you can commend Marilyn for that, but this idolization of a woman who was famous because of the amount of celebrity scandals she was a part of seems unfounded and not needed. I realize that this show is going up in Las Vegas, so the general public doesn't really mind how Monroe became famous and her acting portfolio, they care more about the spectacle of her life as seen onstage.
