www.knoxnews.com: Chuck Ward is known for flipping houses, but last year he picked up a property with plenty of commercial amenities -- interstate visibility, thousands of square feet of retail space, one famous tenant … and a mechanical bull.
In November, Ward paid $2,725,000 for the building at 11220 Outlet Drive that is home to Cotton Eyed Joe, the iconic country music club known for line dancing, concerts and the aforementioned rodeo ride.

When the 2008 recession happened, I was 9. I do not think I consciously knew what was happening at the time because it did not really affect me directly. At that point, both my parents were working for the federal government, so their salaries were set with the fiscal budget set by congress. I vaguely remember a lot of people talking about houses, but I just thought that the people in Bethesda were really hype about real estate. I honestly did not know the whole story of the 2008 recession until I watched The Big Short a couple years ago. That movie has honestly taught me more about the stock market, loans, and other finance relate things than any class I have taken thus far. And it was funny. I do think a lot of people in my generation were affected by that recession, most of us in ways we are too young to remember, and that is a little sobering. It is sort of like thinking about how my entire generation has only known a post 9/11 world. We are so close (in time) to the 20th century, but the culture and atmosphere will forever be inconceivable to us.
