Adam Savage Tours the Jim Henson Exhibition!
Tested: Adam Savage visits the Museum of the Moving Image, which recently opened a landmark exhibition showcasing the works of Jim Henson. From the Muppet Show to Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock to the Dark Crystal, we get up close with many of the puppets, props, and film artifacts from Henson's world-changing career.

Ok, let's bring it down a notch Kell. Let's read a fun article about Adam Savage. I've always loved Mythbusters, and while perhaps they began to sell out at the end of their run, I do think it was one of the more engaging and interesting shows on the Discovery Channel. I never really watched Sesame Street as a kid, or at least not that I remember vividly. I think the only thing I remember is "Elmo's World", but that's it. Regardless of watching Sesame Street, I do appreciate Jim Henson, and his work. He was such a creative mind, and his death was an awful blow to not only the television community, but the creative community as a whole. I'm glad that Jim's work is being memorialized, and that this museum has been gathering enough popularity that Adam Savage came and covered it. Hopefully, with this bump in advertising the museum will get some more visitors.
I've always been a huge fan of Henson's work, especially in Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal. He has such a defined vision in his work that is truly masterful, and the films and T.V.he has made are iconic as a result. In fact, watching Labyrinth for the first time as a kid had me drawing monstrous Henson design lookalikes for weeks following. There is something about his work that is just so entrancing, and everything he makes really sparks my imagination and sends it to the strangest and most wonderful places. I am truly sorry that he is no longer around to keep making his work, but the work he has made definitely is a big inspiration to me, and I'll strive to accomplish work just like his someday. And I'll make sure to watch the new rendition of The Dark Crystal which is coming out on Netflix later this year!
I love the Museum of the Moving image, it is such a cool museum and has so many interesting artifacts from film history, but they don’t have a lot of puppets. Because of that the addition of the Jim Henson exhibit adds to much to the museum. I never realized how varied and innovative his work is. He has worked on so many different iconic projects from Sesame St to The Muppets to Labyrinth. He is clearly a staple of the industry so I think it’s really cool that they now have a new exhibit dedicated to him. As the video says one of the things that makes his work so great is his attention to detail, which adds a lot of dimension to the costume. Take David Bowie’s Labyrinth costume, for example even though we will never see that detail on camera it really helps to flesh out the world of the movie.
