This Show Launched Their Friendship and Their Careers

Theatre Development Fund – TDFWhen Sarah Mezzanotte and Tedra Millan met performing in The Wolves at Vassar's Powerhouse Theater in summer 2016, they immediately connected. "We were each other's first friend in the cast," Millan remembers. "We bonded over quesadillas and being from the same area in Philly."

When talking about networking in PTM, someone brought up the fact that the friendships you form, could be just as important as the professional relationships. This article is a perfect example of that. I also think it's one of the reasons that theater friendships can be so intense. Because you friends are not not just people you work next to, but they are also riding similar career ups and downs. While not true in this case, friends are often the ones that you depend on to get jobs and network. Naturally because theater is such an intimate working environment, I find it unsurprising that Millan and Mezzanotte these two connected so quickly. However, it is pretty cool that the play that brought them together is also the play that sparked their friendship is also the one that sparked their careers.
