InPark Magazine: At this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo, Polin Waterparks brought home four Brass Ring Awards, recognized as among the most respected honors in the amusement industry.
Last year, Polin was honored with a Brass Ring for Best New Product for its Space Race waterslide, a first-of-its-kind waterslide that allows groups of riders to compete against one another. This year, Polin was recognized with four awards.

I stopped going to waterparks a long time ago. I think waterparks are actually mostly populated by families with many many small children running around and screaming their heads off. I think that is (or was) because waterpark rides fall into a small set of definite categories: pools, slides, and lazy rivers. Beyond those categories, amusement parks attempt to attract more attention to the waterparks by filling space with boardwalks and restaurants. Water parks are limited. There is only so much you can do with water. But Polin's innovations in waterpark design-- introducing virtual reality and game type rides-- look really promising for the waterparks of the future. I also think it is a really great idea to be able to introduce virtual reality to waterparks without retrofitting entire rides; it seems like a great cost effective solution. When waterparks start looking like actual amusement parks, maybe I'll go visit one someday.
