2013 Equity Jeff Awards Nominees for Chicago theater

chicagotribune.com: The all-volunteer Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee released its slate of nominations Wednesday for the Equity wing of its long-running recognition program honoring what it sees as the best in Chicago theater, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater emerged as the most honored theater of the year.
Chicago Shakespeare scored a total 19 Jeff nominations, with eight nominations going to Gary Griffin's hit production of "Sunday in the Park With George." The much smaller Porchlight Music Theatre also was held in high esteem by the Jeff Committee, with Michael Weber's production of "Pal Joey" scoring an unexpected six nominations.

Being from chicago, I care a lot about what goes on there! It's amazing how seriously they take their theater there and how this event, for chicago actors, is almost equivalent to a "Tony". Chicago has such a wide variety of theater, unlike many other cities. It's a great place and seems like it will give almost any actor a chance at what they do!
