Live Sound: Properly Cleaning Mixing Console Faders
Pro Sound Web: I’ve cleaned a lot of faders over the years and suppose I’ve gotten a little bold when it comes to tearing a fader apart and giving it a good bath.
And I’ve learned the hard way just how much punishment a fader can take before it breaks.

Working in sound I've always been told how important it is to clean your faders but for people who have no idea of how important this is this article really get the point across. The author clearly takes the topic seriously and makes his article very simple to read. His methods make sense and are simple enough for the common man to follow. I have noticed from experience that though many sound engineers have their own way of cleaning faders, the steps they take are all very similar. It is one of those things that if not taken care of your sound console will not preform the way that you may need or want it to.
