Press Release: Carnegie Mellon's Jon Klancher Authors Book On How Romantic Era Transformed Arts and Sciences

As in just before the romantic era, both the arts and sciences seem to become increasingly inaccessible to the general public. In the sciences this could be because of the increasing vagueness of leading edge research, the vast majority of the public cannot access string theory readily. The arts on the other hand in some cases suffer from the art for arts sake mentality. With the exception of very large scale entertainment venues, art and theater does not seem to be made for drawing the public in, but more to be catering to 'theater audiences' which is invariably always the same demographic. Hopefully our culture as a whole is able to make a push to involve itself in both these fields.
