The Las Vegas Strip show comebacks we’re still waiting on
Las Vegas Sun Newspaper: On November 24, “KÀ” will return to the stage at MGM Grand, making Cirque du Soleil’s portfolio of Las Vegas Strip production shows whole again. In just over a week, Lady Gaga will bring back her “Jazz & Piano” residency shows to Park MGM on October 14, the return of another one of the Strip’s biggest live entertainment draws.

My family is from Arizona, and it has been a tradition for quite awhile to go to Las Vegas for your 21st birthday. I turned 2021 this April, it is far from surprising that I did not go to Vegas. I have been holding off rescheduling as I really want to see some of the famous Vegas shows. I am so happy to hear that they are coming back, and I hope this restores some tourism for the area that has undoubtedly been suffering the last year and a half. That said, I do worry that the openings of these shows and the revived tourism will be short lived with a surge similar to what was seen in Florida this summer. I hope Las Vegas venues will put vaccine mandates in place as some venues in major cities have done, but I worry that the desperation for tourism will prevent any protections or future closures no matter the outcome of reopening.
