LightSoundJournal.com: For four consecutive years, Egyptian MegaStar Amr Diab has performed to capacity crowds as part of January’s highly popular Dubai Shopping Festival. This year’s show was no less popular, despite current Covid safety restrictions. Organizer SIA was quick to adapt, moving this year’s concert to the 25,000-capacity Dubai Sports City Stadium for a socially distanced audience of 6,000.

I am continually impressed by the work that L-Acoustics does with their sound systems. I have come to find out from multiple sources that they are the gold standard when it comes to designing a PA system for a venue. The magnitude of the work that they have done with their speakers has been incredible to observe over time. I could see how this could be a very difficult gig for the people that are always used to providing the sound for this event in a normal year. The back of the stadium was 150 meters away because of the necessity to socially distance throughout the space. They really are providing sound for a completely different experience and making sure that the sound is great from any distance was a huge feat to conquer in this space. Even they said in the article that they could not have accomplished this with any other brand of sound equipment because of the scale of the work that they needed to do for this show.
