Dr. Anthony Fauci Believes Broadway Theatres Can Still Reopen This Fall
www.broadwayworld.com: How arts organizations can reopen their venues in 2021 was the topic of a webinar today presented by the National Endowment for the Arts with special guest Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health.

To be honest, I think those projections are rather depressing. According to Biden, who has been nailing it with these vaccine projections, vaccines will be available to all adults starting in May. Now, if we can’t successfully vaccinate everyone in four months so that we achieve herd immunity by the fall, then what are we doing. I’m seeing a lot of people I know get the vaccine on social media, and I’ve been working under the assumption that we will be fully reopened by the fall. Suddenly, here is Fauci telling me that we may be able to reopen, probably with masks still. That is so disappointing to hear. I just want to be past this pandemic, and it feels like all forward movement is coming to a screeching halt. Cases are going up, and I don’t understand why Pennsylvania is still in stage 1A of vaccine rollout. Like, I’ll take the Johnson & Johnson one, I don’t care, just get me through this.
