These Las Vegas shows are reopening

Las Vegas Weekly: The past two Fridays have been marked by significant announcements from Nevada Health Response, which have quickly changed the live entertainment landscape in Las Vegas. On March 5, Gov. Steve Sisolak signed an emergency directive that immediately reduced the required minimum distance between performers and audience in showrooms, theaters and other venues. The previous 25 feet was chopped down to 12 feet, or just 6 if everyone onstage is masked.

Personally I wasn't really clawing at the doors to be able to see MJ Live again, but hey, it's something. I’m sure about 98% of the economy of Las Vegas is built on tourism and entertainment. So it makes sense why they would be so eager to get people back in their facilities. But honestly, it seems too early to be bringing back live performances with an audience of strangers. I just wish the local and federal governments could have stepped in to provide for artists during this time so we didn't have to put the whole state at risk bringing back David Coperfield.
I will be very interested to see how well the precautions put in place in theaters control the spread. Best case scenario, nothing goes wrong and the shows can sustain themselves until they are allowed to reopen again fully. There are quite a few worst case scenarios, but I am just going to choose to believe that this return has been well investigated, thoroughly thought out, and is safe for everyone involved (even though that is probably not the case).
