Stage preview: PICT's 'Jane Eyre' comes with behind-the-scenes comeback
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Paul Bernardo awoke from a motorcycle accident to broken ankles, a broken shoulder, broken ribs, a concussion. He was in an ambulance, and he had no memory of the incident or the woman who had pulled him out of the road, where he had skidded along the New Jersey asphalt and been hit by a car.

I read Jane Eyre, along with many other of the Brontë sisters’ novels in my high school freshman year English class, and I adored them. I have since watched many of the movies and TV series that have come to follow, and participated in many debates about which actor is the best for which character and why. All of this comes from a deep respect for the incredible, specific, and strong imagery that Charlotte Brontë brings to the table. I have never seen a theatrical production of Jane Eyre, nor heard of one happening near me, but I would really enjoy seeing this one. My opinion of the show itself aside, I am really amazed by Paul Bernardo’s story. I cannot imagine how scary that must’ve been to experience, and I cannot believe how willing he was to step into such a demanding role so fully, after what I imagine being a very difficult recovery. His commitment to this role is something that I am sure everyone who has been with him through this process is proud of, and I am sure this production is all the better because of it.
