Arrays: Exploring the Features and Benefits of AutoCAD
AutoCAD Blog | Autodesk: When designing, there are many times when you need to draft common patterns that contain geometry that is duplicated. You can use the different Array commands in AutoCAD to copy objects in a repeatable pattern. There are three types of arrays: rectangular, circular, and path.

I just took my final mastery AutoCAD exam a few hours ago, and I used this tool! Array was a function that was very difficult for me to get a handle on at first, but once I did, it saved me so much time and brainpower. Without array, a lot of math and time would be consumed to replicate something X amount of times in perfect distance from each other. Today, I had to split a circle into 5 equal pie slices. This would have been very very difficult without array or the ability to use it, and I would definitely not have finished on time. One would have to divide the circumference of the circle into five, and then find those exact points on the circle. With array, you simply type “array”, choose your item and the type of array, and then choose how many you want. It is possible without the quick function, but would make life a million times more difficult. Thanks array:)
