www.usatoday.com: America is in the middle of "reckoning" on sexual harassment we have been told for months now.
The issue loomed over this month's Golden Globe Awards, prompting CNN's Brian Stelter to write a post under the headline "First a reckoning for harassers, now a reckoning for awards shows.
"Hollywood was on-message — saying this reckoning must be about action, not just talk," Stelter said.

The shocking allegations against powerful film mogul Harvey Weinstein seem to have shaken American culture to its core. People everywhere in many industries ranging from news to television, movies and more are sharing heartbreaking stories of harassment. It is refreshing to see these people punished for their actions, and that industries are looking to take serious efforts at reforming the way they function to make it a more equitable place for women. Still you have to wonder if the consequence of this will ultimately be for men to create a tacit “Mike Pence Rule” and shun women in the work place, because they see them as potential threat or temptation. Already stories of this have been reported as the response. Men are afraid to be alone with women in their offices, or afraid to travel with them on business trips. If that becomes the norm, one has to wonder if that will ultimately hurt women’s advancement in the workplace more than it will help it. Hopefully all industries will recognize the need for gender equality as we move forward into a more fair and tolerant society.
