Mark Your Calendars: The Pirates of Treasure Island Show Is Finally Returning To The Strip — For A One-Night-Only Encore Performance

secretlasvegas.co: Vegas, get ready for some serious nostalgia! It looks like we could see a few of the Strip’s most beloved and free attractions sailing back into action. We may all travel back in time – for one night only – thanks to the ambition of local talent agency founder Kelly Warnell.

The title of this article definitely catches your attention, and I am sure the title and the fact that this is a one night only performance will lead to a large crown watching this big encore performance. I have not seen this specific production before, but I have seen similar live shows that contain stunts, explosions, and talented actors. This kind of show really excited me as a child, and I love them to this day. Though the fact that his is a one night only encore performance makes me wonder if the production will be different than what people who have seen it before remember. What I mean by this is will the production be a copy of the original, or will it be elevated in some way. I for one think that the production should be grander to match the fact that it is a one night only encore performance.

Las Vegas is such a fascinating place to me. I went once as a child and was so in love with the feeling of it. This particular show isn’t nostalgic to me because I was never a big Pirates of the Caribbean fan myself (or a big pirates fan in general), but I do think this would be a really fun experience for children, especially ones visiting Las Vegas for the first time. I'm aware that Las Vegas promotes a lot of unhealthy mannerisms and habits because of how much of a gambling city it is but I do really love the theatrical aspect of it and how their shows tend differ from Broadway since they are such a big spectacle and rely so much on media and visual elements which is not something that I necessarily lean towards but I really respect it and I think it can be really fun to watch.

This article caught my attention solely by the article name. I had no idea that a Pirates or Treasure Island show ever existed and that is actually so cool to me. It’s interesting to me that the show is only back for one night only too. I would be curious to know if this show will be different than the original performance since it is only back for one night. I wouldn’t be surprised really since if they are going to go big for one night Vegas is the place to do it. This production should be really cool too because of Simon Rhee who has worked on fairly famous movies stunts. One of the goals is to bring some old famous “vegas magic” back to the strip with this performance. I think this show could be very entertaining and I wouldn’t be surprised if the show was renewed at some point in the future if this show does do well.

I’ve watched the Treasure Island Show on YouTube before it’s pretty cool. Right now with media and consumerism there’s a trend of revivals and bringing back nostalgia. I think even though some shows whether in Vegas or Broadway or theme parks, shows with older technology are not seen as lame by audiences but as amazing for being revived and providing memories of the past. It’s crazy they revived it just for one night though. I wonder how hard it was to recruit people to take on a project like this that only lasts one night. That’s a lot of materials and labor budget to recoup in one go. On a different note, I am also curious what goes into building scenery and lighting effects in water for outdoors shows like this. When the show used to run regularly I wonder what methods are used to prevent water damage and rust over time.
