I am intrigued to see how this musical turns out. I think it is very good that they are working with José to tell his story. I don’t really understand what workshop they are talking about, but in the ballroom scene, workshops are hosted to help people improve their skills in their category but that doesn’t seem like what they are talking about. They could be using the word workshop to describe the setting of the show and so the workshop cast is the cast of the show. If that is not what they mean I am very interested to see who is cast in the show and if they include people from the ballroom scene. I just hope that they really take the time to understand ballroom culture and what it actually is and why it is so important to queer people and do not just use it as a culture to show off and make money off without giving back to the community.
