'After the Hunt' Is a Case Study in High-Powered New England Prep Style

GQ: A pivotal dinner party in After the Hunt, Luca Guadagnino’s post-#MeToo thriller that takes place at Yale University, depicts the sort of scene one might expect from a gathering of Yalies: lively debates, endless bottles of wine, and blazers galore. As is the case with many such Ivy League soirées, everyone in the room is angling for something, and they’ve all dressed accordingly.

I have yet to watch after the hunt but I have been bombarded over the past few weeks on YouTube and social media alike with various lengths of trailers and teasers for this movie. so much it almost made me not want to watch it out of spite even though it features three actors that I deeply adore: Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts, and Ayo Edibiri. This movie seemed really interesting and I do think that there is still a need for movies that sent around the conversation of sexual assault and how powerful institutions deal with things like that. Though I have been disheartened by many of the reviews that have been skewed negatively about this movie, that even with a powerhouse of a cast perhaps the script falls short. I have yet to see it, though now that it has been added to streaming I am sure I will view it sometime soon and for my own opinion.
