If You Like Colorful Tools, Lowe's Early Black Friday Kobalt Deals Are For You

www.slashgear.com: If you've been planning to kit out your workshop with Kobalt tools, then this is probably a good time to do it. Lowe's Black Friday deals have dropped, and as Kobalt is one of Lowe's in-house brands, it's included in the line-up. There are some pretty impressive savings to be made on Kobalt power tools — if you were planning to buy a bunch of them anyway.

So I have never bought a tool or product from Kobalt, but I will say that if I had to buy a work bench, that pink one would be high up on my list. the pink tool bench reminds me of this honestly really frustrating conversation I had with someone once, it was during my fourth job with a Conservation Corps and we were doing a bridge demolition and I remember there being pink sledgehammer and I grabbed it because I thought it was cute, but also it was the shortest and I was the shortest there and I remember this one guy making fun of me for it and I just thought it was like the dumbest thing ever because why does the color of a tool really matter if it makes you happy. I mean if you were buying a brand just for the color that might be a different story but honestly like do what makes you happy.

I really don’t know anything about the caliber or quality of Kobalt tools, but I do think they’re onto something here with colorful tools. Just because tools are often literally the most practical things you have in your house doesn’t mean they can’t have a little personality. Like come on, why don’t we make more high quality tools that are pink. I think we should go even farther and have patterned tools or perhaps customization options and accessories to decorate tools. Now, I won’t lie and say this doesn’t make tools, something that should be simple and focus on functionality, into a slightly more commercialized product. But, theres already so many tools that you can buy that we should just go all in and make the tools pretty. I for one would love to own a pink work bench. Also, having colorful stuff would make it less easy for other people to take my tools and not return them, which would be a major plus.

I think there is overall a very serious lack of power tools made in fun colors. Often times anything made in a color that is interesting is such terrible quality, that it isn't worth buying. Its usually marketed towards women and for some reason tool companies seem to think that if they're making tools that are allegedly for women that they don't actually need to be useful. Personally I have the believe that fun colored tools would bring a great deal of joy and whimsy to everyones lives. I don't know if this set of tools is actually good, I've never had any of this brand but hopefully they are because I love to see interesting things like a nice pink workbench. I also think that having things that come in diffrent colors has a practical use, in that if you have stuff that's a distinct color, but otherwise looks similar it can be easier to quickly identify what you're looking for. It would also help distinguish what things belong to who, so stuff doesn't get confused.

I do like colorful tools, but I am often disappointed by the lack of colorful tools. While color-coding as a system is very useful for keeping things organized, I would definitely be okay with sacrificing some of that for the sake of having a more fun lineup of colorful tools. I’m always a little disappointed that the only “fun color” tool seems to be pink, since there’s a lot more colors out there, and it’d be exciting to have a wider variety of tool colors instead of “normal” and “woman.” However, I guess branding is pretty important. I thought that the insane $500 to $200 price drop sale with free gifts seemed like a pretty insane bargain. While it is the time of the year for deals like that, that especially seemed like a really huge markdown. When I read “free gift,” I figured it would be things like a hammer, not entire power tools.

I have never had any kobalt tools even in my house but give me all the green tools because I really want fun colorful tools. To be so honest $498 for the amount a work bench isn’t too bad considering how much most took benches are for other brands. Yeah tools don’t have to be colorful or anything for them to be useful but to be honest I like being able to distinguish my tools from others since most people have regular colored tools. I really like colorful tools and I’m surprised that this is the first time i have heard of a company making colorful tools (a work bench in 8 colors too). It is also insane that you get a free gift for spending over a certain amount so it is also lowkey worth it since it’s kind of a bargain, especially since the gift could literally be a while power tool.

I was really hoping to be able to get a colorful circular saw or something along those lines, but I guess I will settle for my colorful hex set. The deals sound pretty sweet usually for 4-tool combo kits you're looking at around $400-$1000 depending on the brand. For these to be offered almost $200 less is truly a steal. I do wish more tool brands utilized color options. This would help with organization for some but also in our industry for example if I am the only one with the purple milwaukee impact then I know that impact is mine and I don't have to go to extra measures to ensure my tools are labeled. Because the only real ways of doing that is to take the tool apart and paint it a new color in turn voiding the warranty or adding a stupid line of E-Tape that can be removed and just falls off after 2 months. Ultimately leaving the owner scratching their name into each tool and battery to ensure that you get your tools back at the end of a call. If companies offered collared options that were the exact same tool but just a different colored case I think they would be surprised as to the amount of people who would pay extra for this option because I want my tools to look clean and labels detract from that aesthetic.
