This community engagement initiative greatly touches my heart very dearly, as my love for theater was started at a young age, with my mother and grandmother bringing me to the theater all the time. Going to the theater with my mom and grandma is one of my favorite childhood memories. For me, I have always been pushed and inspired by my mom and grandma to pursue what I love in theater. I am here today only because of their support and belief in me. Having this show dedicated to mothers and daughters sharing their love of the theater means so much to me! It is amazing to me that this night is about celebrating and having a night of women from all generations come together to laugh, cry, and think. I have not heard anything about this show, but I am very intrigued and interested in seeing this show. It seems to be a good show that gets gears turning and leaves you looking at life differently.
I will never stop talking about how excited it makes me to not only see plays on Broadway (not that I don't love musicals) but plays that showcase strong unique women. My mom was never really into theater growing up or knew much about it before it became something that I was passionate about and I've recently loved exploring it with her and trying to find shows that we would both like to go to together. Having a mother-daughter matinee is so special because it not only brings mothers and daughters closer together but to have a room full of mothers and daughters that just want to see a play together is just so beautiful and something that I think more theaters need to do. I also think something so special about it is that the mothers and daughters could be of any age meaning that there would be so many generations coming together and so many different women with different backgrounds all sharing a really nice experience together.
