I was curious to read this article as someone who has listened to the album and curious about how the style of it would translate to a live performance. I have looked into some discussion surrounding the album and after listening to it, it is clear that there are some stylistic choices in which the audio is mixed strangely or degraded for effect. I am curious to know what the approach for live sound is to exhibit this quality. If I am being honest, looking at the photo of the mixer operating a touch screen feels very much not ideal. I understand he isn’t the front of house mixer but more likely the monitor mixer. Either way, it does not seem like a fun way to operate sensitive and expensive equipment. Ultimately it is up to the user and the monitor engineer did praise its portability which is a really thing to consider when deciding what to use for a tour.
