www.broadwayworld.com: Just in is word via Equity members that a deal has been reached between them and the Broadway League to take care of agreements for the many national tours that have been canceled, or postponed. According to Mary McColl, Executive Director:
Since Broadway and tours shut down last Thursday, we've been in negotiations with the Broadway League to determine compensation for you and your fellow actors and stage managers on tour. In this unprecedented crisis, we banded together with the top leadership of the other theatrical unions and are all in this together. I am pleased to let you know that we've reached a deal.

It is frightening when a job cancelled unexpectedly. I don't know if these parameters of this deal are good enough for those it is being affected but it is definitely better than just being dropped off without any job. I am sure it was a lot to process for touring shows to suddenly cancel their tour. I understand that there was a tour of a show somewhere out of the states and immediately everyone was on a flight back as soon as COVID was considered a pandemic. What will be interesting is how these tours will be brought up again once crowds are allowed to gather and theater can once again open. I do hope all these hardworking artists won't be out of this job completely and can soon get back with the tour. I hope the actors equity is continuing to support all the actors suddenly out of jobs. I am sure they are very busy and stressed, but all these people can't have unavailable positions for who knows how any months to come.
