Microphones are a critical component of the technician’s toolkit. Based on years of experience with live sound production, the best advice I can pass along is consistency, from the preparation and placement of microphones to the care and maintenance they receive. If your process is consistent, your sound quality is more likely to be so too.

OK. CMU NEWSFEED YOU DID ME SO DIRTY!!! So quick story (we gonna get personal):

The two people in that picture are people that I know very well... They are from my high school and that photo is from a production I lit called Bright Star. Of all the people that could be imaged, it is very ironic that it is those two. Long story short the boy is my ex-boyfriend and the girl is my ex-best friend (emphasis on ex). Longer story short he broke up with me a month before I came to CMU and started dating her. AKA drama, tea, and hurt feelings that I left back home when I came to CMU so whoever posted that DID ME DIRTY. To let you know seeing this article on the newsfeed actually made my day and gave me a good laugh. I hope that was entertaining.
So funny thing is that I put those microphones on them!!! So apparently I did it right? I must say there were a lot of problems the sound for that show when it was brought to that festival, we figured it out before the show but sound is tough when you don't know what you are doing!!! Props to anyone that understands sound and knows how to do it properly.
