Well, I really wish the moderator hadn't interrupted Kate Whitely after every 10 words she said, but that aside...I thought this was a really interesting interview. I graduated undergrad with a BS in Film and Television production, and I remember it being difficult enough to get permits and approvals to film in bars at 3pm on a Tuesday in Boston. I can't imagine what it is like to try and film at Caesar's Palace at 5pm on a Friday. Ms. Whitely brings ups so many good points about her job that I honestly never considered before: the fact that they have an entire risk assessment team in and of itself says a lot. You think about how many people, and how much money, goes through there on a daily basis, and it's mind-boggling. I feel like most times shooting in a location can be tricky, but honestly not too inconvenient to the location and its inhabitants. But if you're shooting in someplace with a big brand and a big reputation to uphold like Caesar's palace, there are so many factors (like large amounts of insurance) to consider.
