Exploring the stunts, sounds and story behind new Cirque du Soleil action show ‘R.U.N’

Las Vegas Weekly: The last time Cirque du Soleil launched a new show in Las Vegas was more than six years ago. Michael Jackson One officially premiered on June 29, 2013, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, and audiences knew exactly what to expect. The Beatles Love was already seven years into a historically successful run at the Mirage and served as the blueprint for another colorful production combining Cirque’s trademark theatrics with the familiar and beloved catalog of a music icon.

WOW! A new Cirque du Soleil show! It’s been almost six years but they’ve finally announced a new one. It’s so interesting to read about how a company uses social media. The evolution of social media in relevance to companies is so real. R.U.N, seems to be unlike anything that Cirque du Soleil has ever done before on a stage. The production value is a level beyond anything else, and the marketing for it has been intense. They’re pushing the identity of the main characters because this is unlike anything that Cirque has done before. No more acrobats, or ethereal storylines. This seems to be a much more tangible pieces, especially considering there are real somewhat concrete characters that possess identities that will affect the story. Cirque is really pushing their limits with this new show. The stunts look amazing. The sound (or at least what is described) seems really thoughtful. And the story looks and reads as compelling.
