Women Light Up LDI 2019

ETNow.com: Leading women from the world of lighting, video and digital media design will host a series of panel discussions, knowledge-sharing and training sessions at LDI2019.

It follows a long tradition of women taking the helm at LDI, from founder Pat MacKay to creative director Ellen Lampert-Gréaux, to show manager Jessi Cybulski and Marian Sandberg, digital products content director, to sales managers including Kelly Turner and Jo Zola.

I read an article about all the women that will be at LDI this year and it was pretty awesome to see just one article on this event but now there is a second article about the importance of women in lighting and digital media design! It is so important to bring awareness to how important women in this industry are. I would love to go to LDI and see if this is something that is bring expressed and publicized. It is easy to write a few articles about women that will be at LDI but it is another thing for it to be a focal point at the actual event. I would love to know how many women attend the event compared to men. The women at LDI are teaching some pretty interesting classes and it is great to see that the creator of this event are showcasing talented women in the industry!

This sounds like a really great step in the right direction from LDI. While it may be easy to just dismiss women and give a lecture about women in the industry in order to have a better public image, it seems like LDI is actually trying to be more inclusive with the information given at the conference. Women have always been part of this industry in so many aspects, and they always receive less credit. It is important to start highlighting their work the same as we do for men. By having a series of panel discussions, it seems as though LDI is making this part of the conference more of a headlining event, which definitely shows that they are working hard to combat inclusivity in the entertainment industry. This should be a really interesting and refreshing lecture at the conference this year and I wish I were able to go to it. This sounds like it will be a good year for LDI.
