Even after reading all of the reviews I am a little confused about what the play is about. I have never seen a show where there were only two actors. Those two must be incredibly good to carry the full play by themselves! From what I have gathered from all of the reviews is that the show is incredible and the actors do a very good job of telling the story but the theater that the show is housed in might not have been the right move. I got to meet with Aaron Rhines (the projection designer) for a quick tour of the theater that The Sound Inside is in. The set was very simplistic and left a lot of room for projections. Reading about the play’s move from a smaller theater into the much larger Studio 54 (that previous held Kiss Me, Kate, if I remember correctly) was interesting because when I looked at the set on the stage it was two box sets surrounded by A LOT of black masking! The set looked very small but Arron said that the theater is big for the show but it is where it is. One of the reviews, mentions that Studio 54 is much too big for the show. I didn’t see the show but from what I read in these reviews and what I learned when I met Aaron is that it is a beautiful simplistic but complex show. I wish that I had been able to see it.
