Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC), a LORT C theater specializing in the production and development of thought provoking new and contemporary American plays and musicals, seeks a fulltime Production & Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of production and facility use in its 370-seat venue, the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, on the Avenue of the Arts in Center City Philadelphia. The Production & Facilities Manager is responsible for preparing and monitoring all budgets for productions, presented events, rentals and facility operations; recruiting and supervising of production, stage management and facility staffs; and serving as primary liason with the administration. The candidate is also charged with maintaining the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, a 5 year old, state-of-the art venue owned and operated by PTC. As a member of the senior management team, the candidate must possess strong budgeting and organizational skills; effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines; and communicate well across the organization. Additionally, the candidate must have respect and appreciation for artistic and production excellence and will work to create a calm and positive environment where actors, directors and creative teams can accomplish their best work, despite the challenges of a difficult economic environment.
The Production & Facilities Manager reports directly to the Producing Artistic and Managing Directors and supervises a fulltime Technical Director, Facilities Supervisor, Company Manager and others. Qualifications: BA in production and/or technical theatre; 5-7 years experience in production management, preferably at LORT theaters.
