Manages productions for
Theatre & Dance Department, with significant production season. Responsible
for technical direction of all mainstage productions in three theatres.
Supervises student employees/lab students in scene shop. Manages production
schedules/ budgets for scenery/props. Maintains/ upgrades facilities.
Initiates/ ensures delivery of expenditures for the construction and completion
of scenery/properties for 8 (+/-) productions annually and for the ongoing lab
activities in the scene shop.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Theatre with focus on technical theatre and/or professional theatre experience preferred. Supervisor experience in a Higher Education setting a plus. Candidates with equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. Must have knowledge of scenic construction systems, CAD drawing, lighting/fly systems, rigging and techniques of assembly and rigging of all types of scenery. Must have knowledge of sound systems. Must be able to collaborate with design team, faculty, students. Scenery /construction/equipment maintenance skills required. Must have the ability to train and run production/performance crews. Must be detail oriented and able to complete work in a timely manner. Weekends and evening work required. Generally, comp time for hours over 40 for a week. Must have ability to lift/carry 40-60 lbs.
