The
Video Coordinator will oversee all video/projection needs and occasional
lighting needs (as assigned) at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. The
Coordinator's primary responsibility is the advanced planning and coordination,
and onsite supervision, of lighting/video for academic units, presented events
and rentals in the Center. The Video Coordinator supervises student employees
and contingent staff assigned to Production. The Video Coordinator is also
charged with instructing and training full-time employees in the Production
department. The Video Coordinator assists in the acquisition, registration,
inventory, locale assignment, maintenance and repair of all equipment assigned
to Production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
Coordinate with producers for all video needs and lighting needs (when
assigned) throughout the Center. Coordinate all production needs with TDPS,
School of Music, events office and Cultural Participation. Meet with designers
and faculty to discuss video concepts for upcoming productions. Prepare
equipment and content for use in existing and rented equipment throughout the
center. Artistically advance the process of media integration into all
productions and the methods in which the academic units teach the field of
study. Hands-on production work for performances. Patch and coordinate
use of in-house infrastructure.
Equipment:
Equipment management and scheduling for all video rental and in-house
equipment. Assist in contracts to schedule equipment through EMS, design video
systems, repair/maintain equipment, and manage warranties (for off-site
repairs).
Supervisory:
Supervise student labor and provide staffing-plan work schedules. Organize work
shifts in "When into Work" online scheduling software. Train,
supervise, and manage employees. Set goals for employees. Enforce
accountability, expectations, and policies. Keep employees focused and on-task.
Review and evaluate employee performance. Mentor student employees,
student designers, lab class students, and graduate choreographers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
We will consider your application only if you meet these minimum
qualifications.
Bachelor's
degree specializing in a technical field from an accredited college and 2 years
of professional experience OR 6 years of experience specializing in media or
video projections. Professional experience editing graphics and video
content used in theatrical productions. Experience may be substituted for the
degree. Management experience in a theatre environment.
Working knowledge of PowerPoint, QLab, Isadora, and other projection software
on both Mac OS X and PC systems.
Preferred:
A
master's degree in media or projections from a performing arts program at an
accredited college. Management experience in implementing policies and
procedures. Knowledge of current practices and procedures in professional
performing arts environment. Familiarity with ETC's EOS/ION family of
lighting consoles, Catalyst Media servers, VectorWorks, EMS, and other lighting
and video related hardware.
