Designing 007 Exhibition: Costumes Galore
clothesonfilm.com: On 6th July, Clothes on Film were invited to the Designing 007 launch party in London. Apart from quaffing complimentary Bollinger and celeb spotting, we did make several circuits of the exhibition itself. As expected, Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style has a pleasing emphasis on the sartorial, particularly female costume. Vintage discoveries mix with contemporary recreations from all 23 James Bond films in themed rooms dotted across the Barbican Centre.

Seeing how the 007 made up a significant part of my childhood and development, because my parents choose what was on TV, I am so mad that I'm not in London right now! The style of these movies was amazing and the things created for these movies have inspired the imagination of the people who watched them. The work that was put in making and gathering all of these costumes must have been huge. This collection would be something to behold and if it is still up when I go to visit my grandparents, I will be going.
This has been done many times before. Not exactly with this movie but it is common to see special events in which costumes from the movies are on display for everyone to see. It makes the avid movie-goer seem special because he got to be two feet away from the actual clothing used in the famous films he loved to watch. 007 is an iconic movie and anyone would love to see these costumes up close. It's a great money ploy and even though I would pay to see these articles, the only reason behind these setups is the money. Nowadays, just the name James Bond can make more money than most movies.
